History

I got started 13 years ago as a one man show, hence the name Solo Construction. Within a year I hired two full-time employees and today our team consists of several skilled artisans with 10 to 15 years of experience; carpenters, finishing, etc.

WHY I LOVE CONSTRUCTION

When I was 16 I started working with a renovation guy, he’d pick me up at 7:30 am but he was always late. One day when he was really late, my father said “get in the truck, you’re working for me now” I felt bad for the renovation guy knowing he’d struggle without a helping hand but my father also said “I don’t want you learning from this guy, if he’s late every morning he’s setting a bad example. God knows what other bad examples he’s giving you.”

I learned a lot working in renovations but it wasn’t until I started working with my father’s concrete business that I found my passion. I love building things, I love being outside, I love a challenge and above all, I LOVE seeing the customer smile when the final product is delivered.

We’ve made some pretty amazing designs and that’s what really makes me proud… it’s more than quality materials, it’s craftsmanship that really makes their eyes pop. I learned from the best for the next 11 years. Like father like son and from there I started SOLO CONSTRUCTION.

I love building things, I love being outside, I love a challenge, I love seeing the customer smile when the final product is delivered.

HORROR STORIES

His house collapsed! Our quote for a walkout was too expensive. He calls back 3 months later, someone else undercut our price but the walls were folding in! Sadly the job needed to be redone. I explained that we are good and fast but not cheap. We are priced in the middle and you get what you pay for… and because the contractor he hired had no permits, there was no insurance and his money was lost.

Be careful about other contractors who quote at half the price. The average walkout is $18-25k and some of these contractors come in at 9k but you don’t want to have to redo it because, it’s not built to code, no drains, etc.

Don’t get blind sided by dishonest contractors, trust us when we say we are transparent and will let you know about all the things you probably haven’t thought of… did you know that the law requires you to have a permit and drawings for a walkout?
